Limaya is a small rural village 60 km away from Sfax, located on the National road connecting Sfax to Kairouan. Limaya is a dependency of the municipality of Menzel Chaker. After a first step of data collection, we decided to focus our project on a precise school to have more impact and to have the chance to treat a large spectrum of problems. The problems we witnessed in Limaya had particularly shocked us. They seemed like a synthesis of everything that was going wrong in Tunisian schools so that is why we chose to carry out our project there.

 

 

Limaya est un petit village rural à 60 km de Sfax, situé sur la Route Nationale reliant Sfax à Kairouan. Le village dépend de la municipalité de Menzel Chaker. Après une première étape de recherches ethnographiques, nous avons décidé de nous concentrer sur une école en particulier afin d’avoir plus d’impact et pour avoir l’opportunité de remédier à un large panel de problèmes. Les problèmes dont nous avons été témoins à Limaya nous avaient particulièrement touchés. Ils semblaient être une synthèse de tous les dysfonctionnements que nous avions constatés dans les écoles que nous avions visitées. C’est pourquoi nous avons décidé de mettre en place notre projet dans l’école de Limaya.
